Unfortunately, I can't vouch for the RFID experience on a Meru infrastructure. However, as far as scalability is concerned, I can say that we have a production environment that requires 50-70 active data clients on a single AP in a few locations. This has proven to work very well for around 3 years now.

Also, as far as AP deployment, we follow a simple strategy: do a quick walkthrough of the building, noting areas of potential high client density, RF interference, structure and furniture layout; using this information and a building map, pick AP locations that simply "make sense"; perform a post-deployment walkthrough to verify coverage. We have found that 97% of the time we get the deployment right the first time. The times we don't, we identify the areas that need extra coverage and add the necessary unit(s).
