  • VoFi in High-Density designed WLANs.

Is there anyone who have stumbled on any real-life major problems when deploying VoFi in High density deployed WLANs?

I am thinking of for example the following aspects:

Handset has problems with fading when passing obstacles and can not switch to a lower basic speeds since they have been turned off.

High utilization caused by 802.1ac enabled laptops creates much traffic and takes  a lot of airtime if connected at a  low MCS. (unfair Airtime)

To create high density many DFS channels are used causing problems when handset roams

40 MHz and 80 MHz channels reduces the amount of possible channels to use for a a VoFi handset.

Emitted Power levels are different for different clients  causing to much signal propagation at the perimeter of the cell, at higher levels then needed., even if all STA and APs are set to the same Power Level.

    Just some thoughts!

    Martin.
