Posting Description The Interdisciplinary Telecommunications Program (ITP) is located at the flagship campus of the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado. It is housed in the College of Engineering and Applied Science and educates graduate students in modern communication and networking systems. ITP has four focus areas of IP networks, network security, smart grids, and wireless networks. In these areas, students study the underlying technology, business, and policy that defines their current and future success. ITP seeks to hire an instructor who will strengthen its wireless curriculum, consisting of courses in wireless systems, spectrum policy, and hands-on wireless labs. The desired candidate for this position is an excellent teacher with an understanding of communication systems, networking, and wireless systems. They will teach courses in these areas and will support the wireless laboratory. ITP seeks to start a new wireless center of excellence and encourages participation in this activity. The instructor, like all ITP faculty, will advise student theses, mentor student capstone projects, and participate in curriculum development. The instructor will be an interface between ITP and potential partners and student employers in the wireless industry.
- Teach ITP graduate courses.
- Manage the wireless lab equipment.
- Support wireless research.
- Mentor and advise students.
- Carry out additional programmatic duties (e.g. recruit students into the program, interface with industry and community partners, serve on committees, participate in student events, develop and support the ITP curriculum).
Salary: Salary is consistent with the University of Colorado at Boulder guidelines and commensurate with an applicant's professional credentials.
Period of Appointment: This is a non-tenure-track faculty appointment that consists of a 9-month instructional appointment. Applicants can pursue an appointment of up to 3 months in the summer based on research or other grants.
Reappointment can occur for as long as the appropriate need and resources exist. Reappointment is also dependent upon continual satisfactory job performance.

Required Education/Experience/Skills (Minimum Qualifications) - A Ph.D. in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related equivalent experience.
- Experience and hands-on knowledge of communication standards such as 802.3, TCP/IP protocol suite, 3GPP, 802.11, 802.16, and LTE.
- Demonstrated outstanding skills in teaching, organization, collaboration, writing, and presentation.
- An ability to participate in wireless system research and publish.
Desired qualifications - Wireless industry experience: technical research and development, standards, service provider.
- Strong communication theory, analysis, and software skills
- Ability to work with faculty across disciplines
