    The terminology that is used on the new exam is "802.11 standard (as amended)" instead of referring to the amendments. The reason we have done this is that the IEEE predicts that 802.11-2007 will be released in June/July of this year. If that holds true (or anywhere close to true), then all of the current amendments will be immediately obsoleted by 802.11-2007. Then we will have a single document to reference instead of the many documents that we currently have to reference to get the "whole story."

    We didn't want to have to rewrite the exam again immediately after release because of this forthcoming IEEE change, so we're going with the updated terminology a couple of months ahead of time.
