What are vendor-neutral Exams:
CWNP exams are vendor-neutral and therefore do not include questions relating only to a specific vendor's hardware or software. The CWNP certification program tests vendor-neutral wireless and IoT technology, rather than specific functions of vendor products. Passing the CWNP exams enables you to learn and understand any vendor's product line.

What does CWNP Stand For:
The acronym "CWNP" was adopted to represent a family of professional certifications and associated curriculum, and stands for Certified Wireless Network Professional.

What if I have specific questions about a practice test or material in a study guide:
Please post your questions to the appropriate forum. This will allow the greatest exposure to the questions for all to see and will give you the best answers to your questions. The practice test, exam authors, and study guide authors routinely participate in these forums and offer feedback.

I am preparing to take an exam, where can I find details about content and skills I will be tested on:
Details about specific exams are available on each Certification page. These pages offer information about each exam such as number of questions, time allotted, scoring percentages, skills measured, preparation tools, resources, and a free downloadable PDF copy of the exam objectives.

Where can I get training and study materials for CWNP exams. How do I register for an Official CWNP Training Class:
For CWNP Self Study Materials, visit the CWNP Store. To search for a CWNP instructor-led training, please visit Find Onsite Class or Find Online Class.  The Authorized Learning Centers will provide training materials for the class.

How do I know whether my training provider is Authorized CWNP Learning Center:
Authorized CWNP Learning Centers are the only training centers that can post their classes on our site, so if you found your training class on cwnp.com, then you are attending an authorized class. When you attend training you will receive the official course guide for the Certification and a class coupon code, which can be redeemed directly through your CWNP account to receive the practice test and one exam voucher.

How do I know whether my trainer is an authorized CWNT:
You can verify if your Instructor is a CWNT by entering their CWNP ID here. CWNT's must attend an official training class and pass the associated exam with a minimum of 80% before applying to become a CWNT.

Where do I get practice tests for CWNP exams:
CWNP Practice Tests are available in the CWNP Store. These products allow students and instructors to instantly evaluate their current level of wireless LAN and IoT expertise.

How long are practice tests valid:
Practice Tests do not expire and can be taken an unlimited amount of times.

How much do CWNP Exams Cost:
The pricing for each exam voucher is different for the varying levels of Certifications.  You can visit the CWNP Store for pricing and to purchase an exam voucher.

Do I have to take the exams in any order:
There is one prerequisite for each track and those requirements are:

1.  The CWNA certification has to be completed first before taking the CWAP, CWDP, or CWSP exams.  The three professional certifications can be taken in any order you choose once the CWNA has been completed.

2.  The CWISA certification has to be completed first before taking the CWICP, CWIDP, or CWIIP exams.  The three professional certifications can be taken in any order you choose once the CWISA has been completed.

If you complete any of the professional certifications before completing the prerequisite certifications for a specific track, NO certificates will be issued until the prerequisite certification has been completed.

Where do I take the Exams:
The CWS and CWT exams are taken through your CWNP account.  There is no appointment needed since these two exams can be taken at any time.

All other Wi-Fi track and IoT track certification exams are available for in-person or online proctoring through any Pearson VUE testing center worldwide.  These exams must be scheduled with Pearson VUE and your exam voucher will be redeemed directly with them.

Do I have to take the Class:
Classes are highly recommended for hands-on experience, but you are not required to attend a class. Many people choose to self-study for CWNP exams. Reading the CWNP study and reference guides, reviewing the CWNP eLearning modules, and taking the CWNP Practice Tests will help prepare you for the exams. We also highly recommend getting hands-on experience and studying the many white papers available through the Free Resources page.

How do I register for an exam and find testing centers in my area:
Visit Pearson VUE to create an account and schedule your exam, search for local Testing Centers, and contact their Customer Service directly.

What is the exam retake policy:
For the CWS and CWT exams, there is a 24 hour waiting period to retake the exam.

For all other certification exams offered through Pearson VUE, there is a 10 day waiting period to retake an exam.  Saturdays and Sundays are included as part of the 10 day waiting period.

I need to request a special accommodation, so what options do I have for taking certification exams:

***** Effective December 2020, due to the number of accommodation requests, it can take Pearson Vue up to four weeks to approve any request that we send to them.  Please plan accordingly.****
If English is your second language, or other accommodations need to be made, you may request an additional 30 minutes to complete CWNP Exams.  Do not make an exam appointment with Pearson VUE until we have contacted you with an exam accommodation approval and further instructions.  Please send your full name, Pearson VUE Candidate ID number(starts with a V), the exam you are taking, and the reason for your accommodation request to support@cwnp.com.

I just took my first CWNP Exam, but all I have is my score report, what do I do next:
After you pass an exam with a minimum of 70%, your certificate will automatically upload to your CWNP account within 24 to 72 hours.  You can log in to your account and visit My Account>Certificates to access a PDF copy of your certificate.  For the certificate to automatically upload to your account, ensure you have the same email registered between your Pearson VUE account and your CWNP account before scheduling the exam.  If you do not see the certificate after 72 hours, please notify support@cwnp.com.

Can I see the exam questions I missed:
No, CWNP does not release exam items in any form, neither questions nor answers. This procedure is standard for high-stakes IT certification exams and helps maintain the value of the certification. All CWNP exam items are copyrighted material. To maintain the security and value of our program, we reserve the right to de-certify and/or bar any individual from exams who in any way attempts to republish, distribute or disclose our copyrighted certification exam items.

How do I view my certification history, exam history, and contact information:
You can review your contact information and certification history within your CWNP Account. You can use your account to review/confirm your mailing address and print your certificates.

I passed the exam, where is my certificate:
Your certificate is automatically uploaded to your CWNP account 24 to 72 hours after passing an exam and is downloadable as a PDF file.  To access your certificate, log in to your CWNP account and visit My Account>Certificates.  If you do not see your certificate, please notify support@cwnp.com.

How can I prove that I am a CWNP:

Can I get my name corrected on my Certificate:
The name listed on your certificate is the name entered when you created your account.  If your name needs to be corrected or updated, you can log in to your CWNP account and visit My Account>Profile to make the necessary changes.  Once the updated information is saved, please close out and reopen your certificate to ensure the name was updated.

Where can I get CWNP Logos for my business cards:
CWNP logos are available through your CWNP account.  Log in and visit My Account>Logos to access the round certification badges.

Please allow a minimum of 24 - 72 hours for us to receive your exam results and we will send you a confirmation email. You can find the CWNP ID in the My Account section and it will be listed on your certificate.

What does "CWNE" mean:
CWNE stands for "Certified Wireless Network Expert". The operative word here is "expert", and anyone who earns this certification will be worthy of that title, because that individual will possess a great deal of knowledge about 802.11 WLANs, and, furthermore, be able to apply that knowledge to real-world, in-the-field scenarios.

How do I earn the CWNE Certification:
To earn your CWNE, you must first pass five exams: CWNA, CWSP, CWDP, CWAP, and CWISA. Each exam must be valid at the time you submit your application. You will have to submit three written essays about projects you worked on AND submit one publication.  For more details on the CWNE application process and to submit your application electronically, please visit the CWNE Application site.

What is the recertification policy for CWNE:
When you've earned your CWNE certification, it is valid for 3 years. During the three-year cycle, the CWNE professional must report a minimum of 60 CE hours. Please see the CWNE CE document for more details.
