    Here is a link to another forum before this one with a thread about where I just passed the cwna and throw out a tickler question about the operation of RTS/CTS. I provide an answer but another poster put up a very good link to a pdf file with a very very detailed look at RTS/CTS in ad hoc mode. Since this section is about protocols I figured such a link would be useful.
