  • I am back on the books to do the final studying for the exam.
    I am trying to understand the example in figure 2.18 of the 4th ed. CWNA book (page 80).
    Why is the receive sensitivity on one side of the link not modified by the cable+antenna on that side?
    It seems the calculations take into account the cable and antenna on one side of the link to come up with the -59 as the signal, but on the other side only the RS of -94 is used.
    Shouldn't the fact that I have cable loss and antenna gain on the other side make a difference? If the bridge on the other side had an even more powerful antenna, would the SOM still be 35 dbm? How would the SOM equation take into account different antennas and cables on the two sides?
