Was asked by my employer to comment on an advert for a wireless ADSL router that contained "Integrated 802.11g (108 Mbps) wireless access point"

Have I missed a trick somewhere? Thought g was 54 Mbps tops.

some companies are advertizing and producing their own systems that operate at speeds like that. 802.11a and 802.11g have not changed. these companies produce units with certain compression schemes or proprietary setups that while they work amongst themsevles, are not spec compliant.

Sounds like the manfacturer uses "channel bonding" to bond 2 54Mbps together to make 1 108Mpbs channel.
