  • Dear, Forum

Is it possible to multicast a wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) signal on any Unix operating systems platform?

    Regads,

  • Hi Savanted1:

If you are asking "do Unix like operating systems support Wi-Fi interfaces?" the answer is yes. The only one I work with is Mac OS X. I have friends who use Wi-Fi on various Linux based laptops. I would be surprised is Sun Solaris did not support Wi-Fi.

Is there something else you are asking about?

    Thanks. /criss

Thank you for this information first of all but I was really asking if the signal ncould actually be multicasted in the Wi-fi realm of information and technology? This would stem from the OSI Model of the Unix platforms that you elaborated upon in your previous post.

    Regards,

  • Hi Savanted1:

If you are asking "Does Wi-Fi support multicast destination addresses?", the answer is yes.

Is there something else you are asking about? If so, please be more specific.

    Thanks. /criss
