Can a Cisco Bridge Connect to a Linksys Access Point?

    I have the Error stating 'Non Cisco Device " when I try linking a Cisco AP1242 to a Linksys Access Point . Note the 1242 is configured as a workgroup bridge

    Any ideas ?

    The access point to which you connect a Cisco WGB must support Cisco Aironet extensions. Linksys APs do not (to the best of my knowledge).

    Yeah... Devin is correct.. it's "apples and oranges" so to speak..

    Linksys is a division of Cisco . One would think there is a compactibility there

    I don't think the Cisco logos that have been appearing on Linksys kit are anything more than a marketing exercise.

    Linksys only bridges with linksys and Cisco only Bridges with Cisco mainly. If you want some thing cheap check out Buffalo Tech. Their wireless bridge can work with any other vendor.
