  • I had assumed that transmission power control for each AP was an important part of the Extricom design for minimizing co-channel interference. Also, since on current products the antennas are omnidirectional, power control would provide some assistance in reducing signal levels outside the intended area of coverage.

    According to a previous post by the Extricom representative, APs "... operate at full power at all times". If this is the case, there are security implications, and I have a lot more difficulty understanding how the Extricom design provides an advantage in capacity.
