I think you are asking if it is OK to use one vendors antennas on a different vendors Access Point.

The answer is yes. You identified the main issue, which is to match up the connector type (i.e. N-Type, RP-SMA, MMCX, etc.)

Obviously there are different types of antennas with different coverage patterns and gain. You should choose an antenna that is appropriate for the coverage you are trying to achieve.
