  • Is it normal to see about 136 CTS-to-self frames per SECOND for a period of time, for one device? Sometimes I see it for a few minutes, sometimes for over an hour.

These are Motorola (Symbol) MC70 handheld devices. Our WLAN has older Symbols that are strictly 802.11b and these new ones are 802.11a/b/g.

So I understand that the WLAN will use protection mechanism's to avoid collisions. But I'm just wondering about the high frame count. It doesn't appear to affect our users, but I do see the CPU utilization on my Cisco WiSM's climb to about 13% (no big deal) and my RADIUS logs fill up with authentication notifications.
