Hello,

I?m not familiar with Cisco WLAN solution/controllers and I would like to know if my NMS can monitor AP status from controller SNMP agent.
With Enterasys controllers I have two options:
1) monitor AP status via standard interface monitoring (the controller emulates an interface for each AP so if that particular interface is down I know that the AP is down)
2) or via private MIB.

Can I achieve the same with Cisco controllers? It?s a 5508.

You can send defined SNMP traps via mgmt > snmp > trap receivers. Traps to be sent are configured trhough mgmt > snmp > SNMP Trap Controls
