  • 1.We learn that if interference source can’t go made away then a lower datarate can be used since this uses a less complex modulation and will be better hearable for the receiver even with interference going on. How does this work on layer 1 level, why isn’t the amplitude of this signal with lower datarate being cancelled out by the interfering signal at the receiver?

    I had the feeling this is about the shape of the radiowave which is different with each datarate by the specific combination of amplitude and subfrequency and phase. But that can’t be true, since non-802.11 devices on the same radioband uses whole other type of modulation (I think so though since its shape looks different in spectrum view) and is still able to cancel out 802.11-signals.
