  • In the exam objectives of the new CWNA exam I read
    ------------------
    3.1.2. Define, describe, and apply the following concepts associated with wireless LAN service sets

    * BSS & BSSID
    * ESS & ESSID/SSID
    -------------------
    As far as I know, and I read it in a lot of places in this forum, ESSID is a term which is not used in any IEEE 802.11 paper and should not be used. So why on earth does it appear in the exam objectives ? Maybe they want me to learn that ESSID is the SSID of an ESS ( which is not correct ) ?
    What do you think ?
