We usually have a couple of laptops and a few other mobile clients on the AP but I haven't done any systematic testing with specific loads on the AP yet.

Thanks for the Cisco ADU client tip, that might come in handy for debugging although I'm not sure if one client would ever see bad MIC packets from another client since the AP should throw those packets away.

In the meantime I've rounded up a Procurve AP that's based on hostapd which I know implements TKIP countermeasures and should log messages. Unfortunately I couldn't repeat the failures yet. We've seen it in the past where MIC failures come and go unpredictably.
