  • About to purchase a few wireless adapters for the home. The workstations are only 20+ feet away from the wireless router. Only looking at BG at this point in time.

My only problem is that in the past the USB adapters get hot, and often stop working for a short period of time.

Are there any USB adapters that are a good adapter for home wireless networking with a medium traffic?

    Thanks

  • Even though it is 11n, I recommend the Linksys WUSB600N. It is fully backwards compatible with your 11g AP so no issues there. It is a bit more expensive ($70) but is a good adapter.

  • Super and thank you.

I have a few Vista x64 machines and a XP Pro with SP3. Will get one from NewEgg for $64.00 and test on both OS.

    Thank you again

Send me a private message with your email address, and I'll send you a comparison of 25 USB dongles I did last year. It's not quite uptodate, but it will give you a good starting point.
