    Tried it and liked it. It is dual band . You need an 802.11n card to see the 802.11n channels being used. Legacy mode clients won't detect it (802.11n).

  • I don't quite see the need here. inSSIDer is a small quick application that works whether I have an internet connection or not. And, it doesn't use a Java plugin.

    I have mixed feelings about needing the net connection, but I did find that this program found more AP's with null SSID's than either net-stumbler or innsider do running locally .
    So even if I don't have my protocol analyzer card around, I am seeing things I don't normally see.
    And according to the documentation you can run it locally under the right circumstances.
