  • The Network Engineer will work with departments within the Operations world, specifically Core Installations, ECS, and Platinum Client Services. Designs, tests, measures, and evaluates wired and wireless data, desired network infrastructure and voice systems to be used for corporate clients and high profile hotel and/or conference properties. Recommends, develops and implements changes and additions to networks and wireless systems and develops documentation for the network and wireless systems implementation. Works independently on complex system performance, security, RF design, transmission, equipment, and/or traffic engineering activities.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: other duties may be assigned
    ?Coordinates with other departments within iBAHN, especially with the engineering department as well as strategic 3rd party vendors
    ?Will provide product, technical and deployment requirements, and development of the technical solutions, including documentation. This could include designs for ECS events, core hotel requirements or any other special projects emphasizing wireless and property specific technologies
    ?Lab tests wireless products including access points and client devices for evaluation documentation, integration, and customer support documentation
    ?Provides wired and wireless training to other members of the Operation?s organization
    ?Might be required to lead or assist in supporting ECS or large Platinum events or other project rollouts

    REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
    ?BS degree in electrical engineering, computer science or related field OR equivalent experience
    ?CCNA, [b]CWNA certification required; CWSP,CWAP[/b] or CCNP certifications preferred
    ?Understanding of Linux
    ?Understanding of POTS and wireless telephony preferred
    ?Familiar with radio frequency test and measurement systems
    ?Understanding of various radio frequency modulation schemes
    ?Understanding of carrier class requirements for wireless transport
    ?Working knowledge of IEEE802.11 a/b/g/n required
    ?Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    ?Working knowledge of RF-Direct Sequence spread spectrum and OFDM
    ?Experienced in RF Site Surveys
    ?Excellent understanding and troubleshooting techniques for WAN/LAN hardware including routers, switches, dsu/csu?s and wireless access points
    ?Solid knowledge of internet architecture, and security practices
    ?Excellent organizational and time managements skills
    ?Work with minimum supervision
