    Hi,
I have 3 access points configured in wireless point to multipoint bridge setup mode. Though there is good radio coverage, the bandwidth that I get is low. Even when I go right under the access point, the bandwidth seems to be very low. Also, this is not consistant. There are times when the bandwidth is high and there is no problem.
This is our shipping area with lots of racking and finished goods stored.
Can someone help me out as to why the bandwidth is not consistant.
    Thanks
    Ravi

  • Only 1 station at a time can transmit in a half-duplex environment. When you bridge in a PtMP environment, all APs (Bridges in this case) are on the same channel and form a large single half-duplex environment just as if you has strung hubs together. If you have only 1 or 2 stations needing to transmit at a time, then throughput will be good. If many stations need to transmit at a time, throughput will be terrible.

    Hi,
Thanks. I will configure such that we use two access points instead of three. This way I could get better throughput.
    Many thanks for your input.

  • How about using three APs each on a different, non-overlapping channel?

Don't assign channel 6 to the AP closest to the microwave ovens in the break room.
