  • Over the past week or two ,I have begun to notice at my home and at customer sites, T-mobile wireless networks popping up as full strength networks(excellent signal strength) over shadowing the local inhouse WAP's, causing confusion and possible issues when my customers try to connect to the local WAP.

They cannot connect to the T-Mobile hot spots even though some of them have T-Mobile accounts.

I have used Netstumbler and it sees the T-Mobile SSID too.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Is this a job for the FCC?

    Anybody else seeing this?

The area is San Francisco bay /San Jose Silicon Valley.

  • Tough to tell from afar, but it sounds like they have it all over you when it comes to power/signal strength :o

Where was the Tmobile HS installed? Next door?

What channel are you using? Are they using the same? You could always try using one they are not on.

Can you tell your customers to use your SSID if you want them to connect to you, or do you want them to connect to Tmobile?

Tmobile is making a big push to become a player in the HS industry here in the US. They are HUGE in Europe.
