NATting device vs AP

The best way to think about it is this: An AP does not understand IP. In the system you describe, the only device that will change the source and destination MAC address is the router. The AP doesn't know that NAT'ing occured, just like Ethernet doesn't know when we RTS/CTS, Fragment, etc.
