The phones have had such a bad history where I am that I feel I really need to try to make them as good as possible, thus moving them to 5GHz. Plus I can't stand that they default to 802.11b. That's nearly 300 802.11b clients messing with my 802.11g laptops.
I also have a ton of guest networking in 2.4 and I want the phones as far away from that as possible.

802.11n is a long way off for where I work, so I'm not worried about keeping 5GHz greenfield.

Yes, PTT is indeed a big pitfall.
