    The Quantenna QHS600 uses 4 standard omni-directional antennas. But my question is: [b]Does a 4x4 MIMO system mean it has to be using 4 spatial streams?[/b]

    Some news report I read said the Full-802.11n 4x4 MIMO solution actually uses 2 spatial streams and could get a data rate of up to 300 Mbps.

    Sometimes, in a 4x4 MIMO system, some of the independent streams can be combined together to increase reliability and transmission range. For instance, Stream 1, 2, and 3 can be combined while leaving Stream 4 still independent. In this situation, there are only 2 streams if looking from outside.

    A bit confused...
