Any Restrictions for Ad-hoc Networks with 802.11ac ?

    It has been some time since I used an Ad-hoc network, and am not up on what is available in the current 802.11ac market.

    Are there any PC's, Phones, adapters etc that support Ad-hoc connections at /ac rates ?

    I have heard stories that there are Apps for Android phones that allow for ad-hoc nets, spanning several hundred meters in range and maybe a dozen or so handsets.   This may or may not  require  jail-broken phones.  

    Has anyone seen or tried this?
