  • I have seen demos for Cisco and Aruba multicast and its quite amazing when one vendor actually gets it to work how much they jump up and down.

Cisco have some functionality around video as I recall from the demao that actually gets multicast working correctly and they put it against their main competitor Aruba and the demo actually worked well. They have moved the multicast functionality out of the controller to the ap. From memory multicast occurs at the lowest supported data rate so you do need to swicth off the lower data rates, it may be the lowest mandatory data rate?

I can do some more digging if it would help however I have never deployed wireles multicast I feel it will be more in demand with th ecapabilities of 802.11n
